While the opposition, led by RENAMO’s Ossufo Momade and other contenders, has garnered some support, FRELIMO’s electoral organization appears to be more robust. Chapo has already cast his vote in Inhambane, emphasizing that securing the northern region of Cabo Delgado will be his top priority if elected, especially given the ongoing insurgency there
With over 17 million registered voters, FRELIMO remains confident in maintaining its dominance. However, full results are expected in the coming hours, which will determine whether Chapo secures the presidency.
