Cohen Fistball Club won the National A League for the fourth year in a row following the club league play-offs at SKW over the weekend.
The reigning champions CFC 1 underlined their title ambitions after convincingly defeating Sport Klub Windhoek 1 and Swakopmund Fistball Club 1 in their opening two matches. SKW 1 beat SFC 1 in their play-off match, and then later met again in the semi-finals where SKW 1 were once again victorious.
CFC 1 and SKW 1 progressed to the final where CFC 1 again reigned supreme to take the title with a 3-0 victory. With that they won their fourth title in a row and once again finished the league season undefeated.
The biggest winner of the play-offs was SKW 2, who started the playoffs in fifth position, but advanced to the semi-finals, before beating SFC 1 to win the bronze medal.
Although SFC 2, being at the bottom of the table, had no chance of reaching the semi-finals, they had a great tournament, beating CFC 2 and SKW 2 in the preliminary round, before once again beating CFC 2 in the play-off for fifth place.
Cohen 2 had a terrible day, losing all three their matches to finish in sixth and last position. They started the tournament with a three-point lead over SKW 2 in fourth position and in withagreat chance of reaching the semifinals, but their poor form saw them dropping out of contention.
SKW 5 won the National B League after beating their team mates SKW 4 2-0 in the final.
In the semifinals, SKW 4 beat SKW 3, while SKW 5, who were strengthened by former national player Christoph Kubirske, beat CFC 3.
SKW 3 won the bronze medal after beating CFC 3 in the third place play-off match.
SFC A reigned supreme in the u18 category after beating SKW A in the final.
SFC A, which incuded six national u18 players, beat SKW B in the semifinals, while SKW A beat their team mates SKW C.
Before the final, SKW A had beaten SFC A in all four their previous league matches, but SFC A kept their best performance of the season for the final, which they won 2-0.
Bobby Sinclair of SKW A was named youth player of the day, while Benjamin Lange of SFC 2 received the player of the day trophy.
The CFC tournament will take place on October 5, when three teams from Germany will also compete.
