In a speech infused with patriotism and reverence, President Tebboune underscored the significance of March 19, a day that symbolizes the culmination of decades of resistance and the triumph of the Algerian people over colonial oppression.
“We celebrate Victory Day with pride, honoring the sacrifices of those who gave their lives so that Algeria could stand free and sovereign. This date remains a testament to the unwavering determination of our people, who waged a just struggle against tyranny and domination,” Tebboune declared.
The President retraced Algeria’s path to independence, recalling how the Declaration of November 1, 1954, ignited the liberation movement that would become one of the most powerful anti-colonial uprisings of the modern era.
“It was a revolution that shook the foundations of colonial rule, a movement led by patriots who, with resilience and faith, paved the way for generations to come,” he emphasized.
Tebboune paid tribute to the blood spilled in Algeria’s quest for sovereignty, reminding citizens that today’s freedoms were secured through immense sacrifice. “The martyrs’ legacy is alive in every Algerian who strives to build a prosperous and self-reliant nation,” he said.
The President linked Algeria’s past struggles to its present ambitions, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to economic transformation, national unity, and strategic resilience.
“The spirit of sacrifice and patriotism that defined our liberation must now guide our path towards progress. Through sound economic policies, investment in infrastructure, and youth-driven innovation, we are laying the foundations of a modern, self-sufficient Algeria,” Tebboune stated.
In a region marked by geopolitical complexities, Tebboune emphasized Algeria’s vigilance in safeguarding its sovereignty while maintaining an active role on the international stage.
“We remain steadfast in defending our national interests, reinforcing our internal front, and upholding the ideals of the Liberation Revolution,” he declared.
As Algeria celebrates Victory Day, President Tebboune called on citizens to reflect on the values that define the nation’s identity: loyalty, sacrifice, and resilience. He also paid homage to the country’s veterans, honoring their role in shaping Algeria’s destiny.
“Today, in a victorious Algeria, we stand firm in our commitment to the memory of our martyrs and the aspirations of our people. May Allah bless Algeria and grant strength to all those who continue to serve this beloved homeland.”
Concluding his address, the President extended well wishes for the holy month of Ramadan, invoking a message of unity and faith.
“Long live Algeria! Glory and eternity to our valiant martyrs!”
