This year’s theme, “50 Years – Communicate, Modernise and Develop Angola,” commemorates the country’s golden jubilee of independence while reaffirming its vision of digital transformation.

The forum is hosted by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS) and serves as a strategic platform for tech diplomacy, cross-border partnerships, and sustainable innovation across Africa.

Angotic 2025 has drawn robust institutional and private sector backing, reinforcing its role as a launchpad for national digital policy and innovation ecosystems. Notable sponsors and partners include:

Angola’s national space authority leads the forum’s spotlight on satellite technology, space applications for communications, and regional cooperation. GGPEN’s pavilion offers insight into AngoSat-2, remote sensing, and aerospace capacity-building.

As Angola’s largest mobile operator, Unitel plays a central role in showcasing mobile connectivity, 5G testing environments, and customer-centric innovations in digital services.

The telecom carrier is a strategic enabler of transatlantic and intercontinental connectivity. At Angotic, Angola Cables is presenting advances in data centres, IXPs, and its network of submarine cables linking Africa to Latin America and beyond.

The global ICT firm returns as a major partner, demonstrating next-generation solutions in cloud computing, smart cities, AI integration, and cybersecurity frameworks tailored for emerging economies.

A rising player in Angola’s tech ecosystem, TIS is among the standout participants at Angotic 2025. The company is presenting its portfolio in enterprise software development, public sector digitalisation, and national infrastructure integration. TIS is also collaborating on government projects related to e-governance and system interoperability, underlining its role in shaping Angola’s digital backbone.

Two of Angola’s most influential financial institutions are supporting fintech panels and innovation challenges at the forum. Their presence aims to foster startup financing, mobile payments, digital banking solutions, and SME capacity-building.

“The breadth of support for Angotic 2025 illustrates a deep, collective investment in Angola’s digital future. From telecommunications to banking, and from satellite innovation to software engineering, the forum is a convergence of ecosystems,” said Minister Mário Oliveira during the opening keynote.

Angotic 2025 is also gaining traction as a pan-African platform for tech exchange, drawing delegations from across the continent including Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Egypt and South Africa.

Key focus areas include: National infrastructure expansion: fibre optic growth, space integration, and universal service deployment. Digital sovereignty and governance: exploring national data policies and regulatory frameworks for AI and fintech. STEM capacity-building: training the next generation of digital professionals, with a special focus on youth and gender inclusion.

With Angola preparing to mark 50 years of independence in November 2025, Angotic is positioned not merely as a forum, but as a national and continental milestone—a blueprint for harnessing digital transformation to drive inclusive and sustainable development.

Angotic 2025 stands out for its ability to convene government, private sector, academia, civil society and international partners under a common vision: to build a resilient, sovereign and knowledge-based digital economy.

Key long-term outcomes the forum is designed to trigger include:

Angotic supports the government’s efforts to digitise public services, streamline bureaucratic processes, and integrate interoperable platforms across ministries. Firms like TIS are working directly on these initiatives, contributing to the rollout of digital identity systems, e-health solutions, and smart governance frameworks.

Through dedicated panels, exhibitions and youth-oriented programming, Angotic encourages investment in education, coding, engineering and cybersecurity training. The presence of university incubators and scholarships signals a clear pivot toward building a future-ready workforce that can sustain Angola’s digital evolution.

By creating spaces for pitch competitions, VC engagement and SME networking, the forum aims to bridge the gap between innovative ideas and capital. Local start-ups are being connected with banks, telcos and state procurement programmes that can scale their impact beyond pilot stages.

Angotic enhances Angola’s soft power as a continental convener of tech policy and innovation diplomacy. It solidifies Luanda’s standing as a regional ICT hub, a credible partner in African digital integration, and a proactive contributor to the African Union’s Digital Transformation Strategy 2030.

The discussions and exhibitions on satellite technology, terrestrial fibre networks, and rural coverage are meant to accelerate Angola’s journey toward universal digital access. Initiatives supported by GGPEN, Angola Cables, and Unitel are essential to bridging the digital divide in underserved provinces.

“This is a technological moment, it’s a generational shift,” said Minister Mário Oliveira. “Angotic 2025 is about designing the future of governance, commerce, learning and inclusion in Angola and across Africa.”

If executed with consistency and vision, the outcomes of Angotic 2025 could serve as a cornerstone of Angola’s long-term development strategy, shaping the country’s position in the digital global economy for decades to come.
