The business world has lost one of its most iconic figures. Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, passed away on Wednesday (9) at the age of 86, as announced by the group. Globally recognized for his visionary leadership, Tata was responsible for transforming the Tata Group into an international powerhouse, cementing his reputation as one of India’s greatest industrialists.

From 1991 to 2012, Ratan Tata led the Indian conglomerate, driving its expansion across various sectors, including the automotive industry with the acquisition of Jaguar Land Rover and the technology sector through Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Under his leadership, the group established a presence in over 100 countries, positioning itself as a major player on the global stage and significantly contributing to India’s economic and technological growth.

Beyond his role as a business leader, Tata was widely admired for his commitment to philanthropy, investing in social causes and community welfare. Even after his retirement, he continued to influence the sector with his ethical and humanistic approach, serving as a model of conscious leadership.
