Mozambique: Daniel Chapo wins in Cabo Delgado and Maputo city

Daniel Chapo, the FRELIMO candidate, emerged victorious in the presidential elections in Cabo Delgado and Maputo City, as announced by the provincial electoral commissions. In Maputo, Chapo secured 53.68% of the votes, followed by Venâncio Mondlane from PODEMOS, who received 33.84%. In Cabo Delgado, Chapo won with 65.81%, ahead of Mondlane’s 22.64%.

In the legislative and provincial assembly elections, FRELIMO also led, securing 66.44% of the votes for parliament in Cabo Delgado and 72.33% for the provincial assemblies, solidifying its dominant position in both regions.
