The U.S. and Europe are debating how to sustain digital growth without exhausting energy grids. Washington’s recent turn toward nuclear power marks a pragmatic, if controversial, effort to balance technological progress with decarbonisation goals. Yet it also raises complex questions about safety, waste management and public acceptance.
Experts warn that without comprehensive legal frameworks integrating environmental law, energy regulation and social policy, the AI revolution could deepen resource scarcity and public distrust.
AI is both a technological triumph and an environmental dilemma. Its future depends not only on faster processors but also on smarter governance. As governments and corporations race to build the infrastructure of the digital age, they must decide whether innovation will coexist with sustainability — or come at its expense.
