Angolan journalist Ismael Mateus dies in traffic accident

Veteran journalist Ismael Mateus tragically passed away on Tuesday morning following a traffic accident on Avenida 21 de Janeiro in Luanda.

According to the National Police, Mateus’s vehicle lost control and crashed into a fixed obstacle, hitting both a billboard and a tree.

Ismael Mateus was a prominent figure in Angolan journalism, serving as a member of the Council of the Republic and co-founding the Angolan Journalists Union (SJA). He made significant contributions as a commentator on various television networks, radio stations, and in print media throughout his distinguished career.
