Mr Taiwo Oyedele: A visionary Leader in Nigeria’s Fiscal and Tax reforms

Mr Taiwo Oyedele serves as the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, an initiative established by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The committee has been tasked with a wide-ranging mandate to implement crucial reforms in fiscal governance, revenue transformation, and economic growth facilitation, aimed at driving Nigeria’s development and stability.

With a distinguished career spanning more than two decades, Mr Oyedele brings a wealth of expertise to this role. Prior to his appointment, he was the Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he worked for 22 years.

During this time, he held senior leadership roles for over a decade, building extensive experience in tax advisory, policy advocacy, business strategy consulting, leadership development, and policy implementation. His tenure at PwC established him as one of Africa’s leading authorities on fiscal and economic policy.

An accountant and economist by training, Mr Oyedele combines technical proficiency with strategic foresight. He is a prolific author, keynote speaker, mentor, and respected commentator on finance, business, and economic issues. His significant contributions to Nigeria’s fiscal governance include serving as the Thematic Lead for the Fiscal Policy and Planning Commission and Chairman of the West Africa Debt Management Roundtable under the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG).

He has also chaired the Taxation and Fiscal Policy Faculty Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), been a member of the Nigerian Taxation Standards Board of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), and contributed to the Ministerial Committee on the Design and Implementation of Nigeria’s National Tax Policy.

Mr Oyedele’s influence extends to global platforms. He is a Fellow of the Nigeria Leadership Initiative, a member of the Global Tax Forum, and a former member of the Global Governing Council of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

In academia, he serves as an Associate Professor at Babcock University and a guest lecturer at Lagos Business School.

His educational background is equally impressive, with credentials from the London School of Economics and Political Science, Yale University, and the Harvard Kennedy School of Executive Education.

Beyond his professional and academic roles, Mr Oyedele is committed to social impact.

As the Founder and President of the Impact Africa Foundation, he leads initiatives to empower communities across the continent through education, mentorship, and economic opportunities. His dedication to both economic and societal development underscores his pivotal role in Nigeria’s quest for fiscal stability and sustainable growth.
