Egypt’s petroleum minister Karim Badawi has outlined the forces reshaping the country’s energy industry, highlighting recent performance indicators and the role of Egyptian technical expertise in supporting the sector.

Speaking in an Egypt Oil & Gas interview published on December 28, 2025, Badawi discussed the industry’s progress and the domestic talent underpinning it, as Cairo seeks to strengthen energy security and sustain investment in a sector central to the country’s economy.
