The country climbed an impressive nine positions in the Ibrahim Index of African Governance (IIAG), securing the 36th rank in 2023. This upward movement showcases Angola’s resilience and commitment to comprehensive reforms aimed at sustainable development and improved governance.

Beyond governance, Angola has also made substantial investments in infrastructure and economic diversification. These efforts have improved the business environment, increased connectivity, and raised living standards for its citizens. The ongoing development of transport networks, digital infrastructure, and energy access is further positioning Angola as a key player in regional economic growth.
Despite its success, Angola still faces security challenges, with a reported 2.9-point decline in the security and safety category. However, the government remains committed to stabilizing the situation and creating a safer environment for its population. Authorities are actively addressing these issues through policy reforms, enhanced policing, and regional cooperation.
With a 5.8-point improvement in overall governance since 2014, Angola demonstrates that sustained reform efforts can yield transformative results. The country’s achievements in governance and economic development have made it a more attractive destination for investors and positioned it for long-term success.
