LAGOS – Angola will use the 41st edition of the Luanda International Fair (FILDA) as a strategic platform to transform recent macroeconomic gains into higher investment, stronger industrial production and increased non-oil exports, as the country advances its economic diversification agenda.

The fair, scheduled to take place from 21 to 26 July at the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Exhibition Centre in Icolo e Bengo Province, is expected to bring together more than 1,400 companies from 18 countries, making it Angola’s largest business exhibition and one of Southern Africa’s leading trade and investment events.
Held under the theme

“Produce and Innovate Locally, Compete Globally,”

FILDA 2026 reflects the Government’s commitment to promoting domestic production, industrial development, innovation and export competitiveness.
Speaking at the official launch of the event, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Rui Miguêns de Oliveira, said

FILDA represents an important showcase of Angola’s productive capacity and offers a platform for entrepreneurs, investors, financial institutions and international partners to explore business and investment opportunities across the country.

The minister noted that the fair has become a strategic instrument for promoting industrialisation, strengthening the private sector and expanding Angola’s participation in regional and international value chains.

This year’s edition takes place against a backdrop of improving macroeconomic conditions. Annual inflation slowed to 10.11 percent in June 2026, its lowest level in approximately three years, while economic growth has increasingly been supported by non-oil sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, trade, transport and logistics.

For the first time, Huíla Province will participate as the guest province, presenting investment opportunities in agriculture, agro-processing, livestock, mining, tourism and manufacturing. The initiative forms part of the Government’s strategy to promote balanced regional development and showcase productive potential beyond the capital, Luanda.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, FILDA has evolved beyond a traditional trade exhibition to become a platform for economic diplomacy, investment promotion and business networking. The event is expected to facilitate new industrial projects, commercial partnerships and investment agreements while supporting Angola’s integration into the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Government officials believe the fair will reinforce confidence in Angola’s business environment and contribute to expanding production, creating employment and increasing the competitiveness of nationally produced goods in regional and international markets.
